Eureka 7 pretty much sucks in comparison to other anime... the only thing that made it worth watching was the music, the rest was so utterly cliché that I instantly deleted it from my hard drive after I watched it... the ending is probably the worst of it all, in every episode some is almost guaranteed to cry, and comedy... I´ve seen better, a lot better.
All in all, Eureka 7 is only good for the music, maybe one or two fighting scenes, and not this embarrassing excuse for a love story.
I found it relatively funny, and i loved the character development. I disagree about it being cliche' (exept for the happy ever after ending). It had bits of originallity in it. Plus the battles were colorful and artistic and yes it had a wonderful soundtrack.
All you had to do to enjoy this anime is get pass the fact that the protagonist is a bit whiney and your set for 50 episodes (he gets less whiney as it goes on)
Also, this is the only "romantic" esque anime i've enjoyed.
